Typewriter Busking

UPDATE! The Malibu Village Bookstore invited me to do typewriter busking there every Monday starting at 1pm (PT)! They also carry signed copies of my novel “How to Paint an American“. Come by for a visit!

Typewriter Busking is a practice I do where I sit in front of a book store and type completely original poems, stories, and songs for people while they wait! If I receive an online request I will mail my creations anywhere in the world. I learned the practice at Typewronger Books in Edinburgh where I also was given a restored 1967 brother typewriter. The practice has led to incredible things like creating poems to commemorate relationships and sacred moments. It has also taken me into the tragic as I have even typed a speech for a mother to give at a memorial service for her murdered son.

I have also acquired a few non-English language typewriters during my travels
so if you would like a poem in français, norske, 日本語, deutsche, ᛖᛚᛞᛖᚱ ×
ᚠᚢᚱᚦᚨᚱᚲ, italiano, or español I’d be delighted to create one!

Please contact me through this site if you would like me to write something for you!
